Scottish Highland Cattle, Muir Fold
An ancient and noble breed, characterized by a wide level sweep of horns, long hair and short legs, Scottish Highland cattle were hidden from invaders in the hills of western Scotland by the Celts. Highlanders are common to the mainland of the north of Scotland, but may also be found in as many and varied countries as Peru, Canada, Sweden, Holland, New Zealand, France, Germany and parts of the United States. Our sponsoring herd makes its home on the grounds of a restored eighteenth-century plantation in the heart of Caroline County, Virginia.
