As its cornerstone event, this community-sponsored organization presents  an ambitious annual Chamber Music concert series:  The Fredericksburg Music Festival.  The program brings together world-class musicians with decades of international touring experience to delight audiences in northern Virginia.  Spectators who’ve previously enjoyed these artists’ performances in Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, London’s Wigmore Hall, the Sydney Opera House and many other famed venues have the rare opportunity to hear them perform together in historic  downtown Fredericksburg.  At other opportunities during the year, FFA offers an eclectic mix of music and performance including jazz, chorale, Celtic music, dance, theater and more.

Our Education and Outreach activities include family performances, rehearsal concerts for school children,  programs for those in retirement homes, and in-school workshops, lecture-demonstrations and performances from professional performing arts groups including the Virginia Opera, The Richmond Ballet, and the American Shakespeare Company . FFA also  annually sponsors our own  Young Artist Competition, a juried program for area students studying classical vocal and instrumental music.
