For many years, the Fredericksburg Festival of the Arts (FFA) in Fredericksburg, Virginia has been presenting a chamber music festival, which features the musical talents of local artists as well as renowned guest artists. FFA also holds an annual young-artists competition. Winners of the competition also perform in the chamber music festival. The 22nd Annual Chamber Music Festival will be presented this coming June.

A
few weeks ago, Ugly Chair Productions met with a few members of the FFA Board of Directors to discuss the production of a documentary chronicling the events leading up to the Festival as well as the Festival performances ... and the organization's efforts in promoting the performing arts in the Fredericksburg area. Their efforts go far beyond the production of the annual music festival each year. Other topics, such as the organization's outreach efforts with the local schools, will also be included in the documentary.  The documentary will also highlight the cultural significance of the visual and performing arts in Fredericksburg, Virginia, and the surrounding areas.

It is anticipated that the documentary will be approximately one hour in length. Upon completion of the edit, it will be encoded into chapters to be posted here on the FFA website.  In the mean time, follow the progress of the production of the FredFest Documentary by watching the monthly trailers for "Our Town's Best Kept Secret."  Enjoy!
